Also looking at the T-56 3650.. which is rated at like a measily 360ft lbs... can be built up for about $1500 to handle over 700ft lbs. The T-56 TR6060 is about $3475 including core from ford, rated for 600ftlbs stock. Building that up should be able to be around the 1000ft lbs mark. The stock Getrag Supra trans is a beast.. no need to explain anything there... All seem that it would be good to adapt for our Z, since the RICHMOND ROD 6 speed thing didn't work out..
